How The Pup Depot Started.

Lorei’s mom loved dogs. After she passed away, Lorei inherited her mom’s dog and quickly found how few options fit her and Rusty’s needs. Getting out with Rusty was harder still: not many places welcomed dogs, and weather and safety often got in the way. That’s tough on a social butterfly who loves meeting people and other dogs.

Lorei has spent 16 years in sales and has had pets her whole life. She’s warm and loyal, she wants the people around her to be happy, and she puts real passion into the details. As she puts it, “It’s important to address life with kindness and openness.”

In 2026 she took the idea through WEDC’s Entrepreneur Growth Lab (February to May) and won first place in its pitch competition by unanimous vote. Now it’s taking shape at 75 Calvert Street in Harrison.
